Interviewer: Jesse actually recommended you for this role, right?
Justin Bartha: Yeah, I’ve known him for years, and we’ve been very close friends. We sat next to each other on a plane many years ago, and we both lived near each other in New York, and just like any friendship, it developed over the years. I think we both have a mutual admiration for each other’s work.
Interviewer: Whenever we talk to Jesse, he always says he’s not that confident he’s doing a good job, that he’s certain he’ll be fired and replaced. Do you see that from him on set?
Justin Bartha: Once he gets on set, he’s very confident, he knows what he’s doing. He’s just a rare, wonderful actor. We all have our insecurities, and being an actor is self-deprecating to begin with. We could probably talk for hours about actors’ insecurities — every single actor I’ve ever met has them, whether they talk to you about them or not.
Interviewer: How do you deal with fans and people recognizing you then, coming up to you on the street because they feel like they know you?
Jesse Eisenberg: 'Yo, mom. Listen, I'll call you back.'
Justin Bartha: Should I go downstairs while you do your five minutes? Is my set done?
Eisenberg: She called me the other day.
Bartha: It's like anything, you take everything in stride. If it's a genuine –
Eisenberg: What's that mean?
Bartha: Would you really like me to explain this?
Eisenberg: Yes.
Bartha: So, depending on how you feel during that day and what the person is like, just like every experience you encounter in your life, it's ever changing. You take it in stride because that's the only way that you can do it.
Eisenberg: That's what taking it in stride means?
Bartha: Yeah. You can talk about it in your therapy session.

Eisenberg: No, no, no. I don't know.
Bartha: There's a giant Hawaiian man living inside of him.
Eisenberg: That's why I have anxiety. It's so painful because he wants so much.
Bartha: Lets talk about your insecurity.
